Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actress and musician. She began by releasing humorous, cleverly written rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity and sexual orientation. She then expanded her fan base to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in college, she concentrated on her studies. She took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until the time she graduated. Her My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and later appeared on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the Queef song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was another initiative. The singer decided to make a career as an actor after completing her first two endeavors, author and musician. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. Her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
